George Washington, in his Farewell Address, said: “Political parties may now and then answer
popular ends, but they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines,
by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the
people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government”.
The dark money sophistries that support judicial nominations, confirmations, and
featherbedded accommodations appear to dovetail precisely with President Washington’s
prophetic wisdom. The Court has cloaked itself with an absolute judicial immunity that has no
foundation within the Constitution of the United States. It is, rather, a doctrine derived from the supposed infallibility of Popes and Kings. And now, certain members of the Federal Judiciary
are clearly enamored with the Unitary Executive Theory.
